Greeting and diplomatic visit of the President of Turkey to the countries of the Persian Gulf
As-salamu alaykum. The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is currently on a three-day trip to the Gulf countries. On Tuesday he was in Kuwait, Wednesday he’s in Qatar, and then he’s heading to Oman.
Today in Doha, he's having talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. They’re planning to sign a few bilateral agreements based on their discussions.
Turkey and Qatar work closely together in political, economic, and defense areas. Since 2015, there’s been a Turkish military base in Doha with around 3,000 troops stationed there. The countries also coordinate their diplomatic efforts, acting as mediators in the search for a peaceful solution in the Gaza Strip.
The day before, in Kuwait, Erdoğan met with the Emir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, where they talked about ways to deepen the strategic partnership between their countries.
The main topics of discussion were cooperation in economy, energy, defense, and humanitarian aid. They paid special attention to boosting bilateral trade, diversifying investments, and developing joint tech projects. The President of Turkey gifted the Emir of Kuwait a Togg car – a gesture showing Turkey’s desire to showcase the level of technological progress in the republic.
I should also mention that Islam, which emerged in the 7th century, has significantly impacted the history and culture of many peoples. The word "Islam" in Arabic means surrendering to the will of Allah, and today this religion has over a billion followers.
BarakAllahu fikum.
