Fuad Hasan Masyhur Reluctant to Comment on Alleged Funds Flow to Gus Yaqut
PT Makassar Toraja (Maktour Travel) boss, Fuad Hasan Masyhur, chose to stay tight-lipped after being questioned by the KPK in the alleged 2023-2024 hajj quota corruption case on Thursday, June 18, 2026. When pressed by reporters about alleged money flows to former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Fuad shied away from giving a straight answer. "No comment deh, don't, this is dangerous for you. I'm worried, ah. Because there's never been that statement," he said.
But he insisted there was no money given regarding the extra hajj quota. "I'm sure there's none. No transactions, none at all," Fuad asserted. Before this, he had twice skipped KPK summons.
The KPK has named two suspects: Yaqut Cholil Qoumas and his former special staffer Ishfah Abidal Aziz. Yaqut was detained on March 12, 2026, while Ishfah on March 17, 2026. The case development has also snared two new suspects from the private sector, namely Maktour Operational Director Ismail Adham and PT Raudah Eksati Utama Commissioner Asrul Azis Taba, who were detained on June 8, 2026.
