Exciting News: Dune Part Three Begins Filming in Abu Dhabi, Insha'Allah!
Assalamu Alaikum dear brothers and sisters, This month, the much-anticipated third part of the popular sci-fi movie Dune is starting its filming in Abu Dhabi, insha'Allah. The talented cast, including Jason Momoa who plays Duncan Idaho, was recently seen in Dubai at a brand event. Soon, the rest of the leading stars like Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya will join them. Abu Dhabi Film Commission confirmed that the emirate will be a key location for this new chapter of the Dune saga, with filming set to begin later this year. They, together with Abu Dhabi's Creative Media Authority, will support the production, while Image Nation is partnering for the UAE segment. As many of you know, previous Dune films were also shot in Abu Dhabi’s vast deserts, which beautifully represent the fictional planet Arrakis. For Dune Part Two, an entire desert village was built with a huge team working on the project. The director Denis Villeneuve praised the unique desert scenery here, saying it was perfect for the film's look and atmosphere. The new film will bring back familiar faces like Florence Pugh, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and newcomer Robert Pattinson, alongside Momoa who returns after missing the second part. Casting calls are underway for extras from the UAE, especially in Liwa, looking for people with traits similar to the Fremen tribe in the story, who are inspired by desert tribes like the Bedouin. This adds an authentic touch to the film's setting. While exact filming dates are yet to be confirmed, preparations are well underway. The story will continue to follow Paul Atreides and the challenges that come with his rise to power, including the personal and political struggles with his wife Chani. We pray for the success of this project and hope it showcases the beauty of our lands and culture to the world. May Allah bless the cast and crew with ease and success throughout their work. Stay tuned for more updates, insha'Allah!
