Beware of Scams Masquerading as Sadaqah

Assalamu alaikum, everyone. Just wanted to share something that's been happening lately – every time I share a thought on an Islamic discussion, I end up getting random private messages from brand new accounts with the same heartbreaking story: families starving, no food, siblings crying, you know the drill. They often sprinkle in Islamic phrases like 'mashallah,' 'inshallah,' and 'brother please help' to gain trust and tug at your heartstrings. It really feels like an emotional guilt trip. A while back, when I was less experienced online, I actually sent money to someone like this. Then, astaghfirullah, the same person messaged me again from a different account with the same sob story 💀 They sometimes even send random photos claiming they have nothing to eat. Let's all be cautious and make sure to verify before giving sadaqah – and Allah knows best. May Allah protect us from deception and guide us to help those truly in need.
