Besides Hundreds of Weapons, a Bunker-Like Room Found at a Private School in South Jakarta

The Harapan Ibu Islamic School Foundation (SIHI) in South Jakarta discovered a closed-off room resembling a bunker that hasn't been accessible yet. The foundation's attorney, Hermawanto, said the room has been locked since the former chairman of the foundation, IWD, was removed. The foundation is handing over the opening process to the South Jakarta Metro Police to avoid legal and safety risks. Earlier, on July 10–11, 2026, the foundation found 995 firearms, ammunition, and firearm accessories. During a search on August 5, 2026, more firearm components, bullets, ammunition-making tools, suspected narcotics, and dozens of pornographic CDs were found. All evidence has been turned over to the police. A staff expert for the foundation's board of trustees, Untung, suspects the room has a back door for moving things in and out secretly. He expressed regret over the alleged misuse of educational facilities for illegal activities.
