Assalamu Alaikum! Exciting New Mini-City Between Abu Dhabi and Dubai Marks Growth in Our Capital's Economy
A new mini-city is being built close to Abu Dhabi, featuring hotels, a large shopping mall, and thousands of homes. This project is seen as a positive sign of the UAE's ongoing commitment to economic growth, Insha'Allah.
At the heart of this development will be a massive shopping mall, one of the biggest in the region, designed to complement Abu Dhabi’s rich cultural scene, attract visitors, and offer an alternative to Dubai’s large malls.
Located in the Al Mamoura area by the Abu Dhabi–Dubai highway, this Dh55 billion project will include three hotels, 1,000 townhouses, 1,700 villas, and 14,000 apartments. There will also be a 200-bed hospital, three mosques, eight kindergartens, three schools, two museums, and two universities.
Experts note that with many new homes being built and the airport expanding, there is a growing need for more retail spaces to serve the increasing population. Abu Dhabi’s investment in cultural landmarks like the Louvre Abu Dhabi and Zayed National Museum shows the emirate's wish to boost its status as a top destination.
Alongside these cultural sites, the new mall will provide more leisure and shopping options within Abu Dhabi itself, so residents and visitors don’t have to travel to Dubai for a similar experience.
The UAE’s population continues to grow fast, with Abu Dhabi recently reaching 4 million people. This calls for expanded infrastructure, including new transport links like the tram running from Yas Island to Zayed International Airport.
This new mini-city is part of a wider effort by developers to boost communities across the UAE and the region, including places like Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, and beyond.
Leaders in the retail sector see this growth as a great opportunity, helping both locals and tourists find more places to shop and enjoy.
Scholars highlight that ongoing development supports the UAE’s goal of diversifying its economy and enhancing its global reputation, while also providing more homes and services for its people.
May Allah bless these efforts and keep our communities thriving and peaceful.
