Assalamu alaikum - Drone strike wounds seven in southern Lebanon amid fragile ceasefire
Assalamu alaikum. Seven people were hurt on Saturday after an Israeli drone struck a vehicle in Bint Jbeil, southern Lebanon, marking another breach of the fragile ceasefire declared in late 2024.
According to local reports, the drone fired two guided missiles at a car near Salah Ghandour Hospital in Bint Jbeil, Nabatieh Governorate. Health officials said seven people were wounded, though they didn’t give details about how serious their injuries are.
This attack happened as tensions along the border remain high. Earlier in the week, Israeli forces launched a series of air raids on several southern towns and issued evacuation warnings - the widest such evacuation order since the ceasefire began.
For weeks, the situation in southern Lebanon has been strained, with near-daily air raids reported despite the ceasefire agreement that took effect in November 2024. The strikes are said to be aimed at Hezbollah targets and infrastructure.
