Alhamdulillah - Remittances Rise 11.9% in October, Saudi Arabia Leads Inflows
Assalamualaikum - Good news for Pakistan’s economy. Overseas Pakistani remittances rose 11.9% month-on-month in October 2025 to $3.42 billion, with the largest share coming from Saudi Arabia, according to the central bank’s recent figures. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude to expatriates for their support and called them a great asset to the nation.
These remittances give vital foreign currency that helps families, narrows the current-account gap and supports our foreign-exchange reserves. Gulf countries, particularly Saudi Arabia and the UAE, continue to be an important, steady source of these funds.
Per the State Bank of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia sent $820.9 million in October, the UAE $697.7 million, the UK $487.7 million and the US $290.0 million. Total remittances for July–October 2025 reached $12.96 billion, up 9.3% from the same period last year. Over the four months, the Middle East accounted for a large share, with Saudi Arabia and the UAE contributing $3.13 billion and $2.68 billion respectively.
Remittances remain a bright spot for Pakistan amid inflation and tight foreign currency reserves. Authorities say macroeconomic indicators have improved under the IMF program, and the government is working to create more job opportunities abroad for Pakistanis to keep strengthening these inflows.
May Allah bless our hardworking brothers and sisters overseas for their sacrifices and support for family and country.
