AGO Clarifies Febrie Adriansyah's Legal Status After Case Transfer, Says He Remains a Witness in Three Investigations
The Attorney General's Office (AGO) stated that former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah, is still a witness in three corruption cases transferred from the Police's Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor). This statement came after the police had previously named Febrie a suspect in the same cases.
The three cases cover alleged corruption and money laundering at PT Krakatau Steel, alleged corruption in PLN's coal-fired power plant project, and alleged corruption at PT Asabri. Head of the AGO's Legal Information Center, Anang Supriatna, explained that this witness status is based on new investigation orders (Sprindik) issued by the AGO.
AGO investigators are still reviewing all documents, including questioning reports and evidence, before deciding on further legal steps. Anang emphasized that the police's suspect designation is not nullified, even though the new Sprindik still lists Febrie as a witness.
