A Small Thought I Had - Salam
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Assalamu alaikum, You know how our Ummah is going through so much Fitnah and pain right now? We’re living in hardships that are hard to put into words. Our brothers and sisters are crying, injured, and many are crushed by sadness and depression. For a lot of people there seems to be no comfort. But maybe there’s a little thing we could try to help us feel a bit more connected? I feel a lot of our troubles come from disunity. That feeling of being “one body,” like the Prophet ﷺ described, feels distant. Maybe we could reclaim a bit of that closeness with a small, collective gesture. On a chosen date and time, anyone who wants to join would sit with a pen and paper at home and write a heartfelt, fictional letter to the Prophet ﷺ - to express our shared love for him, to complain about our hardships, to pour out what’s in our hearts and to imagine leaning on his shoulder and telling him how much we love him and would sacrifice for him. All of us, at the same moment, making the same simple movement, united in feeling and devotion. One arm made of millions of others, guided by one heart, worshipping the same Allah, loving the same Beloved ﷺ, like the old days. Our brothers and sisters in Palestine, Kosovo, China, and everywhere are crying for help while many of us feel helpless. Since many of us are not able to act right now, why not at least tell our Beloved ﷺ what we feel? What do we lose - just some ink and paper? This is just an idea I wanted to share before it stayed only in my mind. I know a letter won’t change everything and it’s unlikely every Muslim will take part. But maybe it will comfort us, and maybe one day he ﷺ will read it, and maybe, by Allah’s will, it could be a means of intercession for us on the Day of Reckoning and help us toward Jannah. Of course people can adapt it however they like. والسلام
