9 Virtues of Praying Duha Every Day: Opening Sustenance to Having a Palace in Paradise
Duha prayer is a highly recommended sunnah muakkad worship, often performed by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The ruling is based on his advice to Abu Hurairah about fasting three days each month, praying duha two rak'ahs, and performing witr before sleeping (narrated by Bukhari and Muslim).
Its virtues include opening the doors of sustenance, as mentioned in a hadith qudsi that Allah will suffice the person who prays four rak'ahs at the beginning of the day (narrated by Ahmad and Tirmidhi). It also acts as charity for the 360 joints of the body, and the reward is equivalent to hajj and umrah for those who pray fajr in congregation and then duha (narrated by Tirmidhi), and includes being among the awwabin (those who repent).
Other benefits: calming the heart according to Surah Ar-Ra'd verse 28, drawing closer to Allah, being a provision for the hereafter, being promised a palace in paradise for those who pray 12 rak'ahs (narrated by Tirmidhi), and having sins forgiven even if they are as plentiful as the foam of the sea. The best time to perform it is between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m., with a minimum of 2 rak'ahs and a maximum of 12 rak'ahs, with one salam for every two rak'ahs.
