149 Families in Noemuke, NTT Now Enjoy 24-Hour PLN Electricity
The hamlet of Noemuke, in South Central Timor Regency, NTT, has finally been enjoying round-the-clock electricity from PLN since May 2026 through the Village Electricity Program. A total of 149 families now get to experience the benefits of lighting, which previously relied only on oil lamps. Mama Maria, a local resident, shared her joy because the kids can study more comfortably now without being bothered by smoke and poor light. The arrival of electricity also opens up economic opportunities. Yohanes, who runs a small grocery shop, plans to buy a little fridge to sell ice cubes and cold drinks-something that was really hard to do before without any cooling. The regent of TTS, Eduard Markus Lioe, expressed his appreciation and hopes that the electricity will help with education and the growth of small businesses for the locals. PLN's CEO, Darmawan Prasodjo, stressed that this program isn't just about building the grid, but about giving people in remote parts of the country access to wider opportunities.
