10 Hajj Flight Groups Arrive in Surabaya, 3,791 Pilgrims and Staff Return Home
Up to the third day of the Surabaya Debarkation operation, 3,791 hajj pilgrims and staff have returned to Indonesia through 10 flight groups. That number equals about 9 percent of the total 44,000 people who will be flown back in 116 groups.
Head of the Surabaya Debarkation Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) Mohammad As’adul Anam said the return process is going smoothly and in order. Seven groups arrived on schedule, while three groups were delayed. The PPIH keeps coordinating with airlines and relevant authorities to maintain smooth operations.
Nine mutations were recorded, including five pilgrims who passed away, two being treated in Saudi Arabia, and two empty seats. The youngest pilgrim is 13 years old, while the oldest is 104. Return services will continue to be optimized until all groups have arrived.
