Minister Coordinator for Legal Affairs, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, said that Bareskrim Polri investigators are looking into allegations that there was an intention to paralyze President Prabowo Subianto in the illegal wiretapping case involving former National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. This allegation emerged from the development of an investigation into parties suspected of being involved in the electronic interception of the President.
"It points to a desire to paralyze the President so that he cannot carry out governmental authority, that's what Bareskrim investigators are currently looking into," Yusril said at a press conference in Banda Aceh on Wednesday (4/11). He explained that investigators are examining the actions, motives, and intended use of the wiretapping results.
This allegation is related to Article 191 of the National Criminal Code (Law No. 1 of 2023) concerning treason, but Yusril emphasized that the application of this article is still being investigated. Previously, the National Police Headquarters detained three high-ranking officers, including Listyo, in this case, and the investigation continues to uncover motives and possible other criminal acts.
