Ustaz at Surabaya Islamic Boarding School Named Suspect for Molesting 7 Students
MZ (22), an ustaz at an Islamic boarding school in Genteng Kali, Surabaya, has been named a suspect over the alleged molestation of seven of his students. Surabaya City Police Chief Luthfie Sulistiawan said the acts occurred over the past year, targeting victims aged 10 to 15 at a non-conventional boarding school that only operates on weekends. The perpetrator acted at night while the students slept, with the victims initially not daring to report it out of fear.
Luthfie revealed that MZ admitted to being driven by lust due to an addiction to pornographic films. The seven victims are now receiving psychological support and trauma healing from the Surabaya Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Agency (DP3A). Meanwhile, MZ has been detained and is charged with sexual harassment and child molestation under the TPKS Law and the Criminal Code (KUHP).
