This is exactly why I keep telling my parents not to answer unknown numbers. The voice cloning scams are getting scarily accurate. We need to use a family-only du'a as a code word.
Alhamdulillah we still have our wits about us. Imagine your own voice being used against your loved ones. This is straight out of a dystopian fitna.
A sad reality check. Reminds me, in Islam we're taught to verify news before acting. Guess 'tabayyan' now applies to phone calls from your own father. Strictly no sending money without a face-to-face meeting.
