The Influence of the Solo Gang Is Starting to Be Cut Off After the Arrests of Listyo Sigit and Others
The case of alleged illegal wiretapping against President Prabowo Subianto, which has dragged in former National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and several high-ranking police officers, has sparked speculation about a political struggle within the inner circle of power. Director of Research at IndoStrategi Research Intelligence, Ali Noer Zaman, reckons the case is tied to the rivalry dynamic between the group close to former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and President Prabowo’s camp.
"Politically speaking, this incident can be seen as a series of events trying to cut off the Solo gang’s influence over President Prabowo Subianto’s political power," Ali said on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. He also pointed out the replacement of several officials considered close to Jokowi and predicted that the affected group wouldn’t just sit back quietly.
Previously, on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police named three suspects: General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Inspector General Ahrie Sonta, and Inspector General Eko Hadi Santoso. The three are suspected of carrying out wiretapping outside their institutional duties between 2025 and October 2026 and were immediately detained at the National Police Headquarters Detention Center. The head of the Criminal Investigation Unit, Commissioner General Asep Safrudin, said the suspects were named based on scientific investigation results.
Ali hopes the political rivalry among the elite won’t disrupt national stability or people’s lives. "As citizens, we hope this political fight doesn’t mess with the everyday activities of society," he concluded.

Hopefully national stability stays intact, and politics don't end up bothering the little guy.
