Taufik Hidayat's Motive for Cutting the Lips and Gouging the Eye of Victim YTR

BANDA ACEH – The suspect in the confinement of a woman in Bandung, Taufik Hidayat, gave a statement regarding the injuries on the victim YTR's face. To the police, Taufik denied cutting the victim's lips. He claimed the damage to the victim's lips was from being hit with a helmet twice, which caused the victim's teeth to fall out. Taufik also denied gouging the victim's eye, and stated that the victim's blindness was caused by a strike with the edge of the palm. Police are skeptical of this confession. Taufik Hidayat is a repeat offender who was previously arrested for threatening his own father. Victim YTR was found battered and blind at RSHS Bandung after being dropped off by the perpetrator. The victim's family previously thought YTR was working in Jakarta and had lost contact for three years, before it was eventually discovered that she had been held captive by the perpetrator. The victim and perpetrator met in 2023 at a music concert. The victim had introduced Taufik to her family in Rancaekek, Bandung Regency. After that, the victim disappeared and is suspected to have deliberately avoided her family. The family was even yelled at when they tried to make the search for the victim go viral. The police managed to identify the perpetrator's whereabouts, but Taufik Hidayat managed to escape when he was about to be arrested.
