Sukoharjo Police Chief Suspended After Raid on HQ Islamic Boarding School
The National Police Headquarters has suspended four personnel over the raid at the Hamalatul Quran (HQ) Islamic Boarding School in Sukoharjo, Central Java. This move came after complaints and criticism from the students and administrators of the boarding school.
The four suspended are Sukoharjo Police Chief AKBP Andika Dharma Sena, Criminal Investigation Unit Head Iptu AS, General Crimes Unit Head Ipda FA, and Women and Children Protection Unit Head Ipda RAP. The inspection was carried out by the National Police Internal Affairs as a form of accountability.
National Police Chief General Suyudi Ario Seto also issued a transfer telegram, appointing AKBP Indra Maulana Saputra as the new Sukoharjo Police Chief. The raid on October 27, 2026, was related to an investigation into a stall burning case, but it drew flak because several female students and female teachers claimed they were intimidated.

Hopefully, incidents like this won't happen again in any Islamic boarding school. Female students and female teachers should be protected, not intimidated instead.
