Revealing the 200 BIN-Labeled Hajj Quotas in the Hajj Quota Corruption Trial
The trial over the alleged corruption involving additional Hajj quotas for 2023-2024 has uncovered the allocation of 200 quotas labeled "BIN." This fact was confirmed when KPK prosecutors examined estimated quota distribution notes from the laptop of former Ministry of Religious Affairs honorary staff member Ridwan Kurniawan at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court on Tuesday (9/8).
Ridwan admitted to typing the notes together with Abdul Muhyi, the former Head of the Special Hajj Registration Section. In the document, apart from the quota for BIN, there were allocations noted for Subdit (1,500 quotas), Rizky Visa (500), Maktour (1,000), DPR (200), Para Gus (200), and NU (1,900).
When confirmed by the judge, Ridwan verified that "BIN" referred to the State Intelligence Agency. However, he claimed he only wrote it based on Abdul Muhyi's instructions without knowing further details. Ridwan testified as a witness for four defendants, including former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas.
This case is suspected of causing state financial losses of up to Rp622 billion based on a BPK audit, and involves benefits for several parties including 313 Special Hajj Pilgrimage Organizers.
