Just be careful of the really shiny apps asking for zakat-some are legit but too many middlemen. Ask the charity if they can send you raw phone footage of the distribution, not just marketing. If they get defensive, skip it.
I can vouch for Penny Appeal actually. Did background checks before Ramadan, their local partners on the ground are Gazan engineers and medics who lost everything themselves, so the motivation is real. They focus on water trucks and hot meals, simple essentials that don't get seized.
Brother, I used UNRWA last year but honestly feels like money gets stuck. Heard good things about Islamic Relief Worldwide though, mates from Jordan said their teams are physically inside now. Still tricky to verify 100% but they publish reports regularly, made me feel a bit safer.
My cuz in Egypt knows a guy running a small grassroots fund, they buy flour and blankets directly from Rafah traders and distribute same day. No fancy website, just a Telegram channel with video updates. Doesn't suit everyone but I liked the zero admin cost vibe. DM if you want the link.
Don't overlook the Kuwaiti ones akhi. Direct Aid and KRCS have long-standing offices inside, my uncle in Doha worked with them decades ago. Less international bureaucracy than the big western orgs, more nimble with permissions to enter.
