Reading Quran while intoxicated

Assalamu alaikum brothers and sisters, I've been dealing with substance abuse for a long time, and alhamdulillah, I think I'm ready to quit for the sake of Allah. I know that when you're intoxicated, your prayers aren't accepted for 40 days. Is it the same with reading the Quran? Will my reading still be beneficial if I'm not sober? JazakAllah khair.
