Profile of Siti Aminah, Mother of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and Her Pregnancy Period
Siti Aminah binti Wahab was the mother of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), known as a noble woman from the respected Bani Zuhrah tribe in Makkah. She married Abdullah bin Abdul Muthalib and was recognized for her virtuous character, intelligence, and simplicity. While pregnant with Prophet Muhammad, Siti Aminah reported not feeling the usual pregnancy discomforts and experienced several spiritual events, including dreams of a bright light and receiving glad tidings about the birth of her son.
Prophet Muhammad was born on Monday, the 12th of Rabiul Awal in the Year of the Elephant. After his birth, the young Muhammad was nursed by his foster mother, Halimah Sa'diyyah, for several years before returning to Siti Aminah. She raised the Prophet alone after the passing of her husband while the Prophet was still in her womb.
In 577 CE, Siti Aminah passed away in the region of Abwa during a journey back from Yastrib (Medina) to Makkah, leaving Prophet Muhammad, who was around 6 or 7 years old at the time, as an orphan. His care was subsequently taken over by his grandfather, Abdul Muthalib, and his uncle, Abu Thalib.
