President Gibran Visits Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Announces Hajj Village Program
Indonesian President Gibran Rakabuming Raka conducted a working visit to Jombang, attending the general recitation for the Haul event at the Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School. His presence was enthusiastically welcomed by thousands of attendees, community figures, and several officials such as National Police Chief Listyo Sigit, Prabowo, East Java Governor Khofifah, and the Mayor of Jombang.
In his speech, Gibran conveyed the government's priority agenda, one of which is the Hajj Village development program. This program will be built on a 45-hectare plot of land as a service and accommodation center for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. Gibran hopes this program can streamline services and facilitate the Hajj pilgrimage process.
Gibran also met with the Islamic scholars (kiai), fulfilling their request to expedite his visit agenda. He also interacted with the students (santri), giving appreciation to the Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, which has produced many national figures. Gibran emphasized the important role of students (santri) in facing global challenges.
