Preparations for the 35th NU Congress Expo Reach 80 Percent, Ready to Accommodate 350 MSME Booths
Jombang – Preparations for the bazaar and expo area for the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress at the Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School, Jombang, are being ramped up. Progress on the expo area has hit around 80 percent, and the committee is aiming to have everything finished before the inspection by the Nahdlatul Ulama Central Board (PBNU) at the end of July.
Parking and Expo Coordinator, H. Irfan Karnadi, says the local committee is setting up four expo and parking areas. Three locations are ready to use, while one more is in the final stages of completion. The total land prepared is about 1.5 hectares, with the two main expo spots able to hold 300 to 350 booths for MSME players from Jombang and other areas.
The bazaar area is scheduled to start operating on August 22 as part of the pre-Congress program, and will also serve as a public space with various entertainments that are still awaiting direction from PBNU. Local Committee Chair, KH Abdurrozaq Sholeh (Gus Rozaq), confirms that all venue preparations are being rushed to finish by the end of July, with priority on raising the bazaar ground level, parking areas, and adding sanitation facilities. He also assures that the Congress won't disrupt the surrounding community's activities; public vehicles won't be allowed into the boarding school complex, and participants will be shuttled using golf carts.
