Palace Steps Up Vigilance and Runs Internal Review After Alleged Presidential Wiretapping Case
State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi stressed that the Presidential Palace will keep ramping up its vigilance and running internal evaluations following claims of illegal wiretapping against President Prabowo Subianto. "Constant vigilance. We're cleaning house nonstop," he said at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Friday (6/11/2026).
Prasetyo urged that the case involving several police generals be investigated transparently and according to the law. He emphasized no info should be hidden during the investigation process.
This case came to light after former national police chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and three other high-ranking officers were named as suspects. National police criminal investigation chief Commissioner General Asep Safrudin revealed the procedure-less wiretapping allegedly targeted the President's phone number, state officials, political figures, media, and other parties.

Dig everything up down to its roots, bro. I mean, someone with the rank of general pulling a stunt like this-it just embarrasses the institution. The people need full transparency, the law can't just be sharp when it's aimed downward.
