Opening Volleyball Pre-PORA, Aceh Besar Regent: Achieve Glory and Don't Skip Prayers
Aceh Besar Regent H. Muharram Idris officially kicked off the IV Pre-Qualification for Aceh Sports Week (Pra PORA) 2026 for volleyball at Jantho Sport City (JSC), Jantho City, on Monday (7/9/2026). The event brought together athletes and officials from 18 districts/cities across Aceh.
In his speech, Muharram stressed that this event shouldn't just be about chasing victory, but also building character, sportsmanship, and brotherhood. He reminded the athletes to keep up their religious duties, especially praying on time, and to dress modestly and cover their aurat while competing.
Muharram also invited all participants to treat Pra PORA as a way to strengthen bonds between regions. He hopes the competition runs fairly and contributes to developing standout athletes who can make Aceh proud on the national stage.
The Aceh Besar regency government gave a nod to the Pra PORA organization and KONI's role in pushing sports forward. Muharram added that sports activities are crucial for steering the youth toward positive stuff and away from bad habits.
