OIC Slams Attacks on Mecca and Medina
The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the attacks allegedly carried out by the Houthi group on the city of Mecca and the Medina area, as well as the ongoing aggression against Saudi Arabia. The OIC stated that the attacks sparked fear among civilians and violated the sanctity of places of worship, hurting the feelings of Muslims worldwide.
The OIC emphasized that actions targeting holy sites, mosques, and civilian infrastructure are terrorism that goes against Islamic values, norms, and international law. These violations are deemed unacceptable and must be prevented from happening again.
The OIC expressed full support and solidarity with Saudi Arabia, including the government's efforts to maintain the security of holy sites, the safety of Muslims, and the country's sovereignty.
