Number of Nganjuk Hajj Pilgrim Candidates Decreases by One Due to Health Reasons
The number of Hajj pilgrim candidates from Nganjuk Regency for 2026 has decreased to 731 people. This reduction occurred after one candidate, Sumarlik Subari from Kertosono District, decided to postpone his departure for health reasons.
Nganjuk Regency's Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Office, Hanif Kamalodin, explained that this postponement decision was made consciously for the safety and health of the pilgrim. He emphasized that performing Hajj requires a prime and strong physical condition to properly carry out all obligations.
All candidates from Nganjuk will be divided into three groups (112, 113, and 114) and depart simultaneously on May 20, 2026. Departure preparations, including the distribution of worship equipment in the form of suitcases, have been completed. The suitcases will be collected again on Saturday and sent to Surabaya the day before departure.
The Nganjuk Ministry of Religious Affairs team continues to monitor these preparations to ensure they proceed safely and comfortably. The local government hopes all pilgrims can perform their worship calmly and smoothly, and return with the status of a Hajj that is accepted.
