My mind spins trying to grasp Allah’s greatness
Bismillah, just thinking out loud here… The One who existed when there was nothing – it’s wild to even say that. What is ‘nothing’ anyway? The One no one created. The One no one designed. The One who was never born. The One who never ever dies. The One who set the start of everything. The One who already knows the end. The One seeing all that happened. The One seeing all that’s happening now. The One seeing all that will happen. The One who knows us better than we know ourselves. The One in whose sight this whole dunya means nothing – yet for us it feels like everything. The One who made endless space and keeps expanding it. The One who doesn’t abandon us even when we sin. The One without whose permission no leaf moves, no soul lives or dies. The One who placed us on this earth. The One who will bring us back. The One who shows us more mercy than our own parents. The One in whose hands an entire galaxy is probably less than a grain of sand. The One greater than anything we can ever think. We all carry some mental image of Allah, right? How He might be. For me, every time I try, it’s like an overwhelming light my eyes and brain just can’t handle. I honestly feel like if I saw Him right now, face to face, I’d just collapse from the shock – I couldn’t process what I saw. I feel awe, fear, and pure happiness all mixed together when I think of Him. Nothing in this world gives you those three feelings at once. Just knowing He’s there – our Creator, our Provider, our Judge – brings a calm that makes me forget every worry in my life. Can you really picture Allah? I mean, truly imagine Him?
