My father won’t consider Islam with an open mind
Salam alaikum. I might take this down soon so my family doesn’t see it, but I need to get this off my chest. My dad just won’t accept Islam. He says out of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, Judaism makes the most sense. I didn’t know much about it, so I looked into it and honestly, I was a bit confused. I could see some things that made a little sense, but not a lot, and it shares a lot with Islam. When I compared them, Islam seemed way more logical to me. So I tried talking to him about the scientific stuff in the Quran and some prophecies, and compared them to the Torah. But when I said Islam is more logical, his only response was that Judaism came first, so that’s his whole argument against Islam. I told him that’s not a strong enough point on its own-maybe if he had other reasons, but just that one? It doesn’t hold up. He completely ignored all the evidence I shared and said Islam just copied Judaism but “improvised” it. I was like, what? That doesn’t even make sense. The scientific facts in the Quran aren’t just random changes-the Torah and Quran don’t even have the same ones. My dad can be pretty stubborn and only sticks to what he already thinks, even when there’s clear logic against it. He’s done this with other stuff too, not just religion. But this time it worries me because even though he says Judaism is more logical, he doesn’t actually believe in it. He just thinks it’s more sensible than Islam and Christianity because it’s older. He doesn’t follow it himself. I don’t want to force him into Islam-that’s not right. But I’m worried he won’t even think about it properly. Is there anything I can do? I hope I’m not coming off biased, astaghfirullah if I am.
