MTQ XXXI in Praya, Central Lombok: Strengthening NTB's Steps Towards Becoming the Serambi Al-Qur’an
The 31st Provincial Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) in Praya, Central Lombok, is a big moment to boost Qur’an education and brotherhood amid diversity. Thousands of people, religious and community leaders, plus interfaith figures came together in a chill, harmonious vibe, showing that Islamic outreach walks hand in hand with tolerance and mutual respect.
Under Bupati Lalu Pathul Bahri, the event was prepped so well it felt like a national-level competition. The grand venue, smooth organization, and the colossal Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin dance at the opening night blended Islamic spirit, cultural arts, and professionalism. Even the General Secretary of the central LPTQ, Prof. Dr. H. Muchlis M. Hanafi, admitted the people of NTB really love the Qur’an.
Governor Dr. H. Lalu Muhamad Iqbal sees MTQ as part of the effort to make NTB the Serambi Al-Qur’an, focusing on boosting Qur’an literacy, coaching reciters, and nurturing good character. This event is meant to bring back NTB’s glory on the national stage and produce Qur’anic generations who can compete internationally.
All the preliminary rounds have picked out the best finalists from ten districts/cities. The event ran safely, smoothly, and with deep respect, with the committee open to feedback and clarifications to keep things fair and honest. This success comes from teamwork between the provincial and district governments, LPTQ, judges, security forces, and the people. As the final approaches, big hopes rest on the judges’ professionalism and fairness to crown champions who can make the region proud at the national level.
