Ministry of Religious Affairs Opens Research Funding for Ma’had Aly, Registration Until June 24, 2026
The Ministry of Religious Affairs launched the Indonesia Bangkit Research Funding Program 2026 for Ma’had Aly. This program aims to strengthen the research tradition and scholarly development of pesantren at the national level. Registration is open from May 2026 until June 24, 2026.
The Director of Pesantren at the Ministry, Basnang Said, said that Ma’had Aly is on par with Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKI) in developing knowledge and research. He hopes this funding will encourage the emergence of scholarly works and professors from within Ma’had Aly.
Head of the Center for Religious and Religious Education Financing (Puspenma) at the Ministry, Ruchman Basori, added that the funded research must have strategic value, impact society, and support national priority programs. Strengthening the research ecosystem is also emphasized through collaboration with national and international educational institutions, while remaining based on turats as the hallmark of Ma’had Aly.
This program refers to the Guidelines for the Indonesia Bangkit Research Funding Program Number 201 of 2026, and participants must follow the set themes. The Ministry hopes that Ma’had Aly will become more robust as a center for developing Islamic sciences based on the pesantren tradition, capable of meeting the challenges of the times.
