Ministry of Religious Affairs Holds Mass Wedding to Welcome 1 Muharram 1448 H, There's an Important Message for the Younger Generation
The Ministry of Religious Affairs, through the Directorate General of Islamic Community Guidance, will hold the Nikah Fest and Islamic Wedding Expo 2026 at Smesco Exhibition Hall, Jakarta, on June 27–28, 2026. This event is part of the series welcoming the Islamic New Year 1 Muharram 1448 H and carries the concept of a One Stop Nikah Solution.
The event features a ta’aruf session, marriage guidance, a wedding expo, and a mass wedding. Registration for the mass wedding is open until June 23, 2026, through the local Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) in DKI Jakarta. Selected participants will be representatives at the peak of the event and will receive business capital assistance as well as become part of the Movement for Awareness of Marriage Registration.
Director General of Islamic Community Guidance, Abu Rokhmad, stated that Nikah Fest is an effort to deliver relevant religious services. “What’s far more important is building a strong family that supports each other and can become the foundation for producing a quality generation,” he said. Education and assistance for prospective brides and grooms are continuously expanded so that couples are well-prepared before entering married life.
Head of Public Relations and Public Communication Bureau of the Ministry, Thobib Al Asyhar, added that family resilience needs to be a shared concern. All Peaceful Muharam 1448 H programs, including the Nikah Fest, are directed at expanding social benefits and strengthening the role of religion in people's lives.
