Minister of Hajj Finalizes Improvements for 1448 H Hajj Services, 47 Thousand Pilgrims Have Returned Home
Minister of Hajj and Umrah of Indonesia Moch. Irfan Yusuf said that services for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are not over even though the peak of the 1447 H Hajj rituals has ended. Right now, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah together with Hajj Organizing Officers are focusing on making sure the process of returning pilgrims goes safely, comfortably, and smoothly until the last flight group arrives back in the country.
So far, as many as 120 flight groups or 47,012 pilgrims have returned. The return phase through Jeddah Airport runs until June 15, 2026, while the second wave of pilgrims will start being sent home from June 16, 2026. The last flight group is scheduled to arrive on July 1, 2026. The Minister stressed that all officers are still working until the final group gets in.
The Amirul Hajj team has given a number of recommendations for improving 1448 H Hajj services, covering better services in Mina, on-time transportation, accommodation closer to the Grand Mosque, improved meals, standardized training for officers, stronger health readiness, tent and sanitation facilities, less plastic waste, and more transparent contract management.
The Minister appreciated the dedication of Hajj officers and thanked the Hajj Media Center for presenting calming information. He's committed to delivering services that are more professional, responsive, and focused on what pilgrims need.
