MBG's Electric Motorcycle Compared to Similar Products on Alibaba, Suspected Price Markup Emerges
The procurement project for electric motorcycles to support the operations of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program has drawn public attention following allegations of price inflation. Content creator Aryo Pamungkas, in a viral video on Sunday (4/12/2026), accused a markup in the procurement of electric motorcycles for Heads of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG). This issue surfaced from a comparison of the Emmo JVX GT electric motorcycle used by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) with a similar product on Alibaba, which is allegedly priced at Rp10 million, starkly differing from the procurement cost of Rp42 million per unit.
Aryo Pamungkas suggested that the MBG motorcycle is suspected to be a rebranded version of a Chinese product, the Kollter ES1-X Pro, using AI for comparison. He calculated a potential margin of up to Rp32 million per unit, with a total procurement of 21,800 units. However, the Kollter ES1-X Pro is sold at a premium price internationally, reaching Rp127-130 million, so the Rp10 million price found on Alibaba is questionable-it might only cover an empty chassis or large-scale orders.
In response, BGN Head Dadan Hindayana clarified that the motorcycle in Indonesia uses the local brand Emmo, while the same manufacturer uses names like Tinbot or Kollter in other regions. He emphasized that the specifications of the motorcycle for Indonesia have been adapted to domestic needs, even if they originate from a similar design line. The public is urging a thorough audit to clarify these suspected price discrepancies.
