Mayor of Sabang Opens FASI 2026, Highlights the Need to Nurture Quranic Generation
The Mayor of Sabang, Zulkifli H. Adam, kicked off the 2026 Indonesian Sholeh Kids Festival (FASI) in the yard of Babussalam Grand Mosque on Friday night (10/16). In his speech, he stressed how vital it is to nurture a Quranic generation that's faithful, devoted, and has good morals as a foundation for building Sabang's future.
FASI runs from October 16 to 18, 2026, with six contest categories: memorizing 1 juz of the Quran, tartil recitation, tilawah recitation, religious preaching, the call to prayer, and coloring. This event is a platform for kids to grow their religious potential and develop a love for the Quran from an early age.
Zulkifli said that Sabang's progress doesn't just hinge on cleverness, but also on the faith and piety of the young generation. He gave a shout-out to parents, Quran teachers, dayah leaders, and Islamic boarding schools for guiding the kids. Wrapping up, he hoped that continuous development can produce a young generation who love the Quran, live by Islamic values, and have good character as future leaders.
