LPSK Proactively Reaches Out to Sutrimo's Family, Ready to Provide Protection and Help Seek Restitution
Surabaya - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has stated it will directly reach out to the family of Sutrimo, 42, the house guard of former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah. Sutrimo died in South Jakarta and his death is suspected to be unnatural. LPSK Vice Chairperson Susilaningtias conveyed this when confirmed on Wednesday (12/8).
Sutrimo's family reported the suspected unnatural death to the Banyumas City Police on Saturday night, August 8, 2026, with report number STTL/79/VII/2026/SPKT/Polresta Banyumas/Polda Jawa Tengah. In response to the report, LPSK stated it will go directly to the family's residence in Banyumas. "LPSK will proactively reach out to his family. We plan to visit the late Sutrimo's family home in Banyumas," said Susilaningtias.
Susilaningtias explained that her agency has been in communication with the Metro Jaya Police since the beginning. Currently the case has entered the investigation stage. The LPSK team has also arrived at the location and participated in the exhumation process carried out by the police that morning. "We hope that through this exhumation, the cause of the deceased's death can be revealed. Meanwhile, we have also started approaching the family through their legal counsel," she said.
Susilaningtias emphasized that Sutrimo's family has legal standing and dual protection rights as the reporter, potential witness, and family of the victim. "The family has the right to protection. Not only as a reporter and witness, but also as the victim's family who has the right to claim compensation or restitution if the perpetrator is proven," she said. If there is proven murder, LPSK is ready to help calculate the loss value to be submitted as a restitution claim. In addition, the family is also entitled to psychological recovery assistance if they experience pressure, threats, or trauma due to the incident. The form of protection provided will be adjusted based on the threat assessment conducted by the LPSK team. "If there is a physical threat, we can provide escort protection or placement in a safe house. If there is no direct threat, we still provide psychological recovery and legal assistance, including helping calculate and submit compensation claims," she explained. All forms of protection apply to the entire family, not limited to the reporter or witness only. Currently the LPSK team continues to monitor the investigation progress while maintaining direct communication with the late Sutrimo's family.
