KPU Asked to Issue Cancellation Letter for Gibran's Vice Presidential Candidacy
The General Election Commission (KPU) is being urged to quickly issue a letter stating that Gibran Rakabuming Raka's vice presidential candidacy is legally void. This was said by Ray Rangkuti, Executive Director of Lingkar Madani Indonesia, in response to the Supreme Court ruling that annulled Gibran's high school equivalency certificate.
The Constitutional Court also previously stated it found no convincing evidence regarding the foreign diploma used as the basis for educational equivalency. Ray wants the KPU to act fast since it was that institution which finalized Gibran as a vice presidential candidate for the 2024 election.
Ray is pushing factions in the DPR to make political decisions based on the Constitutional Court and Supreme Court rulings, including using the right to express opinions. He also urged Gibran to consider stepping down from the vice presidency, seeing as the legal foundation for his candidacy has been declared null and void.

Careful, don't let it be just ceremonial. If the Supreme Court has already said it's null and void by law, then there shouldn't be any more bargaining. It's embarrassing before the people, embarrassing before God. May our leaders be given guidance to be honest.
