KPK Summons Subordinates of Raja Juli and Bahlil in Kukar Mining Permit Gratification Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has examined several officials from the Ministry of Forestry and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as witnesses in a suspected gratification case related to mining business permits in Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan. The examination of eight witnesses took place on Tuesday (2/6/2026) at the KPK's Merah Putih Building.
Among the witnesses called were the Director General of Forestry Planology and the Secretary of the Directorate General of Minerals and Coal in their previous positions. KPK also questioned private parties, local government employees, and entrepreneurs to dig deeper into the permit issuance process and money flows.
This case is an expansion of the case involving former Kukar Regent Rita Widyasari. Three corporations have been named suspects for allegedly receiving gratification related to coal mining permits. KPK suspects Rita received $3.5-5 per metric ton from companies that obtained the permits.
In the money laundering case, KPK has seized assets worth around Rp476.86 billion, including luxury vehicles, watches, land, and buildings. Investigators continue to trace the flow of funds and other parties suspected of involvement.
