KPK Detains Two Suspects in Hajj Quota Corruption Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detained two suspects in the alleged misappropriation of Indonesia's hajj quota for the 2023–2024 period. They are ISM, Operational Director of PT Makassar Toraja (Maktour), and ASR, Commissioner of PT Raudah Eksati Utama and former Chairman of Kesthuri.
The detention was carried out at the KPK's Merah Putih Building Detention Center for almost three weeks for investigation purposes. Both are charged under Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) point 1 of the old Criminal Code.
Previously, the KPK named former Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas and his special staff as primary suspects on January 9, 2026. Maktour owner, Fuad Hasan Masyhur, was not named a suspect despite being temporarily barred from traveling abroad.
The case advanced to the investigation stage on August 9, 2025.
