Jokowi Says It's the UGM Alumni Album Printer’s Error, Not His

Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) testified at the East Jakarta District Court on Thursday (5/11/2026) in a defamation case over diploma allegations, with Roy Suryo as the defendant. Jokowi admitted he’d never seen the UGM Forestry Faculty alumni album that Roy’s lawyer, Gafur Sangaji, showed. In that album, Jokowi’s high school education history is listed as SMA 6 Yogyakarta, not SMA 6 Surakarta like he always said. Jokowi stressed that the mistake lies with whoever printed the album, and he’d ask for a revision if he spotted it. Roy Suryo is accused of spreading false info about Jokowi’s diploma.
