Istigasah Kubro, KPK NU: Arrest and Prosecute Nusron Wahid
A crowd calling themselves KPK Nahdlatul Ulama (KPK NU) held an Istigasah Kubro in front of the KPK's Red and White Building in South Jakarta on Friday (23/10/2026), urging the arrest and trial of Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency, Nusron Wahid. KPK NU coordinator Muhammad Sholihin accused Nusron Wahid, Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul), Juri Ardiantoro, and several kiai of tarnishing NU's dignity over alleged use of corruption money during the 35th NU Congress in Jombang.
Sholihin took issue with the election process for the PBNU Rais Aam through the Ahlul Halli wal Aqdi (AHWA) mechanism, which he said didn't reflect the majority choice of congress participants. He thought the process was morally questionable and went against NU's own rules. KPK NU also wondered why Nusron traveled abroad when KPK investigators summoned him as a witness.
This National Santri Day-themed action was the second time KPK NU showed up at the KPK with posters and banners calling for the arrest and trial of those they claim are caught up in the congress controversy.
