Is Being an Introvert Totally Okay in Islam?
As-salamu alaykum, everyone. I’m wondering about this because my family and relatives are mostly super outgoing-they always want to chat or do something. I came across something online saying that quiet people might come off as “arrogant” or “cold” just because they don’t talk much. That really bothers me, because I’m not like that at all. I just choose my words carefully and am not super expressive with my face or gestures. I actually don’t mind those moments of quiet when no one’s speaking-why do people find it so awkward? It’s just quiet, right? But it feels like my quiet nature makes others uncomfortable, and that gives me anxiety and makes me feel bad. I’m not doing anything wrong, though, am I? Is being introverted alright in Islam?
