Infrastructure Readiness at Armuzna Targeted for Completion H-5 Before Hajj Peak
The Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) for Saudi Arabia ensures that infrastructure readiness in the areas of Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna) is continuously being accelerated and is targeted to be 100 percent complete by H-5 before the peak of Hajj. The Head of the Pilgrim Protection Division (Linjam) for PPIH Saudi Arabia, Muftiono, affirmed this optimism, referring to the significant progress made in the past week. 'At the initial inspection, progress was only around 60 percent. But today, alhamdulillah, the change is truly extraordinary. I am optimistic that the target of 100 percent by H-5 can be achieved,' he said on Friday (8/5/2026).
A number of new facilities have been prepared to enhance the comfort and safety of prospective Hajj pilgrims. Each tent in the Plains of Arafah is now equipped with a thick additional floor structure, layered with carpet and foam mattresses, along with two to three air conditioning (AC) units. Each pilgrim is guaranteed to receive one mattress complete with a pillow, sheet, and blanket. From a security perspective, the aisles between tents have been installed with 24-hour operational CCTV surveillance cameras.
Improvements have also been made to the sanitation areas, including the provision of squat and sitting toilets, the installation of additional urinal frames outside toilet cubicles, and a more inclusive design with special pathways for prospective Hajj pilgrims with disabilities. Detailed checks are continuously carried out all the way to the Mina area to ensure the quality of mattresses and other supporting facilities. These physical facility enhancements are expected to help pilgrims maintain their stamina and health while performing the series of rituals.
