Indonesia's Deputy Hajj Minister Symbolically Hands Over Sacrificial Meat from Indonesian Pilgrims for Palestine, Following President Prabowo's Directive
Indonesia's Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, symbolically handed over packages of dam (hadyu) meat from Indonesian hajj pilgrims to the Palestinian people through the Adahi program at the Palestinian Representative Office in Jeddah on Wednesday (6/3/2026). The handover was received by Palestinian Consul General Ehab Medhat Al-Kishawi.
This move follows up on President Prabowo Subianto's directive to ensure that the social benefits of Indonesia's hajj pilgrimage are felt by the Palestinian people, who are facing a dire humanitarian situation. "President Prabowo Subianto pays great attention to the struggle and humanitarian conditions of the Palestinian people. He mandated that the benefits of the dam from Indonesian hajj pilgrims be extended to help our brothers and sisters in Palestine," said the Deputy Minister.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is pushing for more orderly, transparent, and well-documented management of the dam through the Adahi program to ensure targeted distribution. As of June 2, 2026, 135,367 pilgrims have paid for the dam through Adahi out of a total of 195,326 registered pilgrims.
The Palestinian Consul General expressed gratitude, calling this assistance a symbol of sincere brotherhood from the Indonesian people. The handover took place in a warm atmosphere, emphasizing that the hajj pilgrimage brings social and humanitarian benefits.
