ICMI Orda Jember Distributes 1,200-Liter Water Tanks to Tackle Water Crisis in Bunder Hamlet

The Indonesian Association of Muslim Intellectuals (ICMI) Jember chapter handed over a 1,200-liter water tank to residents of Bunder Hamlet, Sumberpinang Village, Pakusari District, Jember, through the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Jember on Saturday (7/25). The aid aims to address the clean water crisis caused by the dry season and the environmental impact of the Pakusari Final Processing Site (landfill). The handover was done directly by ICMI Jember Formateur Chair Prof. Bambang Kuswandi to PMI Jember Disaster Management Head Narto. Prof. Bambang emphasized that this step is a concrete manifestation of intellectuals' contribution in responding to real community issues. “ICMI doesn't just churn out academic ideas, but also has to show up with solid solutions. We hope this tank helps store and distribute clean water more efficiently for the people of Bunder Hamlet,” he said. Narto expressed his appreciation and said PMI would immediately install the tank at a strategic spot so residents can quickly access it. “Collaboration like this is really meaningful during a drought emergency. We’re very grateful for ICMI’s trust. This tank will be put on standby in the field right away,” he explained.
