I feel drawn toward Islam - please make dua for me
As-salamu alaykum. I grew up Christian, and years ago the Lord revealed to me through Jesus (peace be upon him) a beautiful lesson from Matthew 6:1–4 about giving in secret. Jesus (PBUH) said to give your gifts anonymously, and your Heavenly Father who sees in secret will reward you. I started leaving small gifts in places for people to find without them knowing it was me. After that, Allah began showing me many unexpected signs and blessings in gentle, mysterious ways. A few months ago after leaving some money in a store I found a book the next day that seemed to jump off the shelf at me in the library: The Power of Dua. I opened it to a random page and the first thing I read was about giving in secret. I was amazed and checked the book out to read that night. I learned a new word from the index - Tahajjud - and read about how to perform it. Gradually, I began waking up around 3–4 a.m., washing and learning how to pray that night vigil. After starting Tahajjud, I experienced strong signs and blessings that felt like they came from the Glorious Lord. I was then drawn to the 99 Names of Allah and have been praising the Lord with His beautiful names every day. I’ve also started studying the Qur’an. I will be honest: I’m struggling with adjusting my understanding of Jesus (PBUH) from my Christian upbringing and with questions about the crucifixion. I’m also unsure where I stand regarding Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), though I include him in my prayers, send blessings on him, and give thanks for him. At the same time, I continue to receive signs through Christian people and the Bible, so I’m still trying to make sense of everything. One thing I’m sure of is that the Lord of the Worlds has His mighty hand upon me. Please make dua for me as I try to find clarity and truth. And if you want to try something simple that blessed me, practice leaving small anonymous gifts for others and see what Allah does in your life. An easy idea: buy some blank thank-you cards, write an encouraging note, slip in a little bookmark or a small amount of money, and leave it somewhere for someone to find.
