Head of BGN Denies That Emmo Electric Motorcycle Is a Rebrand of Alibaba Product
The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, responded to information circulating on social media that the Emmo brand electric motorcycles, purchased for heads of nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPG), are a rebranding result of electric motorcycles sold on the Alibaba site. BGN purchased 21,801 units of Emmo Electric Mobility Indonesia brand electric motorcycles, consisting of the Emmo-JVX GT (trail) type priced at Rp 43.3 million per unit and the Emmo-JV Max (scooter) type priced at Rp 41.7 million per unit, to support the free nutritious meal program (MBG).
Dadan denied this claim by stating that the motorcycles purchased by BGN are different from similar products on Alibaba, which are sold under the Kollter ES1-X PRO brand at Rp 10.425 million per unit. He emphasized that Emmo is an official brand in Indonesia, while sales in China, Europe, and America use the Tinbot brand. Dadan also cited the battery price of about Rp 7 million to emphasize the quality difference.
The electric motorcycles are currently still stored in the distributor's warehouse, after having been moved to several locations such as Tangerang, Cakung, and Sentul. Dadan explained that this procurement is only budgeted for 2025 and will be distributed to SPPGs in areas with difficult access. He added that the Tinbot brand has been exhibited at EICMA in Milan and is used by the Spanish police, as proof of its authenticity.
