Hajj Services Strengthened from the Dormitory to Pilgrims' Return Home
Minister of Hajj and Umrah Moch. Irfan Yusuf emphasized the commitment of Indonesia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) to strengthen the quality of hajj pilgrim services, starting from departure in the regions until returning to the homeland. The statement was made during an ASN Kemenhaj guidance session across Jambi Province at the Jambi Hajj Dormitory, Thursday (6/25/2026). The Minister stressed that serving pilgrims must be the top priority at every stage.
According to him, the success of hajj organization isn't just measured by the smooth technical travel, but also by the comfort and ease felt by the pilgrims. The Hajj Dormitory acts as the first gateway of service that must be reinforced, covering reception, documents, health, meals, luggage, transportation, until the return. Special attention is requested for elderly pilgrims, those with disabilities, and those with high health risks.
The Minister also highlighted the importance of professional, competent, and honest hajj officers. Regional Hajj Officers (PHD) and Kloter PPIH as the front line must be able to accompany pilgrims, know their conditions, and ensure equal service. Additionally, all Kemenhaj ASN are asked to maintain integrity and protect pilgrims from unofficial levies and other harmful practices.
Through this guidance, it's hoped that hajj services will become more professional, inclusive, and oriented to pilgrims' needs, realizing a better hajj pilgrimage with pilgrims as the center of service.
